Eileen held her hand, robotic once again, up to her heart just to see if it was still beating. She knew that glimpse of her desired life hadn’t been real. Yet it still hurt her to treat Collin the way she had. What if that illusion had feelings of some sort? She hoped not. Surely, she had made it all up in a desperate attempt to be sane again.
